“The Ten Ton Ziggurat Punch”

The above garments were designed and sewn by Conrad Andersen for his 2021 thesis collection. The narrative surrounding the collection centered around technological singularity, and how the internet has spurred on radical social changes in such a short period of time. To summarize the famed futurist Ray Kurzweil, technological growth isn’t a linear system (it grows exponentially) we can see up to 20,000 years worth of human progress in the next 100 years—but will society be able to adapt to such radical changes? I used a combination of flat pattern making and moulage to achieve such volumes in garments. All prints were designed by Conrad and produced through sublimation and hand garment dying.
